The inspection will be part of the Jalshakti Abhiyan that is being carried out under the supervision of district administration against illegal pumping of groundwater and the operation of illegal borewells in Gurugram.

57 teams will be assigned with large condominiums, complexes and plotted colonies each to check the provisions and functionality of the RWH system in these respective areas, has been confirmed by RS Bhath, the District Town Planner. He also said that they have been working since June towards the compliance of rainwater harvesting rules as soon as they received directions from the headquarters in Chandigarh about implementing the zero rainwater discharge system for Gurugram. They are also working on how to use recycled water so that the rainwater is not wasted. The RWH structures are already a part of the sanctions building plan and are mandatory to be constructed. HSVP administrator Chander Shekhar Khare said the authority had made it mandatory for its engineering wing officials in September 2018 to ensure that every house had a functional rainwater harvesting structure while issuing an occupation certificate.
